Exam: "Boxes"This project is based around nature but through nature being confined and "boxed in". I chose to present this in my project because we are told almost every day the damage we are doing to the environment and that we need to reduce our carbon footprint and preserve the environment, but a lot don't listen and disregard the information and warnings. A study conducted in 2009 showed that 24% of wildfires were started due to arson. 300 football fields of the rainforest are cleared every hour. I used this project to raise awareness of nature and our environment and how we as a population need to stop taking it for granted and putting a lot of nature on show in our homes - flowers in vases.
Own Projects:
Final Piece
What I DidFor my final piece, I wanted to combine my images again, including the running theme of nature and boxes. To do so, I cut down a branch from a tree (representing a consistent link throughout my project - killing nature to display) and printed out a select few of my images - one or two from each shoot - in a square or rectangular shape. I then added a variety of borders around each image to represent the box and confinement of nature. Once I had added the borders to each image, I used string and tape to hang the images from the tree - confining them to a certain space - as well as sticking some images completely to the branch with the string.
